About Home Service
What does Home Service do?
Home Service’s guest communication platform provides AI powered concierge services and communication automation for Vacation Rentals such as AirBnB. It’s also available for Hotels and Resorts. With Home Service, Hosts and Property managers can easily set up powerful conversation flows by answering a few simple questions about their property and area. Home Service handles all guest inquiries related to the rental and area, and is available to guests through an Amazon Alexa skill, or through a chatbot they can easily text with.
How does Home Service work?
Home Service is a platform on which hosts answer a number of simple questions related to their rental and area. Hosts and Property managers then link those answers to an Amazon Alexa device which is placed in the rental, and are also given access to a customized chatbot their guests can text with. While in stay, guests primarily communicate with the chatbot and Alexa, saving you, the Property Manager or Host time. In a nutshell, you fill out pre-determined questions on our site. We’ll serve your guests your answers to these questions, and we’ll use these answers to make conversational engagements with them. If there are further questions which are not on this list, you can suggest them to us and we’ll implement them quickly!
Who is Home Service for?
Home Service is for Short Term Rental and AirBnB hosts and Property Managers. It’s for those looking to automate their rentals and listings, and make hosting easier by cutting down on the repetitive tasks which hosts frequently undertake and which end up being their biggest time-sink. It’s for anyone looking to delight their guests with on-demand concierge services, easy access to information, and awesome local recommendations. While it’s a great addition to listings, we’ve also found that property managers and hosts managing more than 3 properties have been saving quite a bit of time, and seeing a measurable increase in 5-star ratings.
What languages does Home Service talk in?
Home Service currently works only in English in the following countries: United States, United Kingdom (UK), Ireland, Scotland, Canda, Australia, and New Zealand. Hosts and Property managers outside of these countries can still use Home Service, but it will be in English, and their Alexa devices will need to be set to operate in the “English Speaking” region so we can serve guests answers and conversations in the language we’re built in. What additional services are available?
We’re developing partnerships with fellow hospitality startups who are creating amazing services such as curated experiences, guided local tours, and professionally selected itineraries for the area in which guests are visiting.
Does Home Service offer dedicated customer support?
Yes! We have a support team which is available 24/7 to help hosts and property managers deal with Home Service related problems, setup, and other events. Is Home Service available in my country?
Home Service lives in the cloud so it’s available anywhere with internet! For now it’s recommended that it be used in English speaking countries, but hosts all over the world can use Home Service if they set the geographic region of their Alexa devices to the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.

About Our Conversational Voice Assistant
What is an Alexa skill?
AAn Alexa skill is basically an app that’s enabled on your Amazon Alexa device - think of it as an app for a smart speaker! Because the base Alexa functionality is pretty limited, they opened up their platform to developers (like us), to make better products and apps for it! Guests talk to this ‘skill’ and it understands what they’re saying and the context they’re saying it to give them exactly the information and answers they’re looking for. Guests will invoke the skill by saying “Alexa, ask Home Service where the paper towels are”, or whatever other question or amenity they’d like to access. This will start the conversation and they can go from there!
Do I need an Alexa to try Home Service?
For now, yes. We do have a chatbot guests can text with, but to get the full Home Service experience, it’s recommended that you put an Alexa in your rental. If you really want to give them the most amazing experience possible, try and get an Alexa with a screen such as the Echo Show or Amazon Smart TV - that way guests can make use of the full voice and visual Home Service experience.
Does Home Service also provide visual content for screens?
Yes, Home Service is best experienced in a multi-modal environment. What’s better than hearing something? Seeing it as well!
Does Home Service work on other platforms like Google Home

How can I get a free Alexa?
Our annual plan comes with a Free Alexa - we’re often running promos that give discounts to the annual plan as well as throwing in a free Alexa device!
Does Home Service work in other languages?
Home Service currently only works in English. We’re building support for Spanish and French in the near future, and hope to expand to other languages beyond that soon.
How do I get started?
Getting started on Home Service is really easy! First, you’ll need to create an account here, and familiarize yourself with our sleek, easy-to-use dashboard. Once you’ve registered for an account, we can talk you through the setup process, or you can go ahead and create a property. As soon as your property is created and you’ve subscribed, you’ll be able to connect those answers to your Amazon Alexa, and give guests the link/access code unique to you so they can Text with Home Service as well to get the information they want and need. If at any time you run into problems setting up, our team will be there to guide you through the process! Just give us a call or message us on the chatbot on our site!
Can I use Home Service if I’m not on AirBnb?
Of course! Even though most of our users are Hosts and Property Managers on the AirBnB platform, anyone hosting or managing Vacation Rentals or Short Term rentals can use Home Service. Hotels and resorts can also make awesome use of Home Service - there’s really no restrictions on what type of property in the hospitality and vacation rental industry can take advantage of our awesome features.
Does Home Service offer Free Trials?
Yes! We offer a 14 day free trial on our monthly plans! We also offer test periods on our annual plans during which you can use the Alexa we ship you - just send it back if you want to cancel Home Service. We’ll send you a return label!
Setting Up Properties
How long does it take to set Home Service up?
Home Service is designed from the ground up to be an intuitive and fast experience for Hosts and Property Managers. Creating a profile takes less than a minute, and filling out all the details needed to create a property takes less than 7 minutes - we timed it! Once you’ve created a property, it only takes a few seconds to link it to your Alexa devices, and we give you a reusable link/access code which you can send to your guests so they can text with Home Service as well.
Does Home Service provide setup support?
Indeed we do - if at any time you encounter any issues while creating a profile, property, or linking to your device, we’re here to help, either through the chatbot on our site or by phone. We’ll gladly walk you through any part of the process!
Can Home Service help me stand out from my competitors?
It can, and for many of our users, it is! Home Service offers amazing functionality for the rentals it's used in, and it provides an awesome and seamless access to information to the visiting guests. Guests often mention how helpful Home Service is in their feedback and reviews!
Will the Home Service team help me if I’m stuck?
Our support team is there to help. If at any moment you notice a problem with Home Service or a bug or any sort of discontinuity of service, we’ll be there to help you out and solve whatever problem you may encounter. Home Service is an early stage startup, and as such our product is always evolving. Bugs may happen from time to time, and letting us know if something isn’t working is the best way to get it fixed quickly!
Plans, Payment, and Pricing
How much does Home Service cost to use?
Home Service has monthly plans and annual plans. We try to keep our pricing plans as simple as possible, and we won’t upsell features. Whatever new functionality or features we develop are available to all of our users! Enterprise customers such as Hotels and Resorts may be interested in our scaled pricing as deploying such large installations might have some setup fees involved.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Of course! You can cancel your subscription at any time.
Will Home Service help me get an Amazon Alexa?
Yes - our annual plans come with a free Amazon Echo dot, and we’ll help hosts and property managers who don’t have an Alexa to get one and set one up in their AirBnB or rental. We can ship devices directly to you, or send you a link so you can order devices directly from Amazon!
What are the Home Service support hours?
We’re a small team but typically offer phone support from 8:00am Eastern Standard Time to 10:00pm EST. Our chatbot on the Home Service site can answer a number of common questions, and we’ll get back to email inquiries as quickly as possible!
Can Home Service offer support to my guests?
Nope! Beyond the answers you provide and the integrations you set up, we can’t interact with your guests.
